Category: 8   Price: $25.00 USD

The pipe has special meaning to native people. The Haudenosaunee use the pipe today mainly for confirmation. The men smoke the pipe after a Condolence ceremony and at the signing of any treaty to confirm that everything went through and all is good. The Iroquois believe that in rising skyward, tobacco smoke conveys prayers to our creator. In the past Tobacco was one of the few crops cultivated by Iroquois men, who used it in a variety of ceremonies. Often, tobacco was smoked in stone or clay pipes with guests in ceremonies marking a strengthening of tribal bonds or an end to disagreements.
